Getting back on the wagon

After my summer vacation from working out, I have decided that it is time.

(Summer vacation that lasted until the 30th of Sept) :-)

No more slacking!
No more eating a whole pkg of chocolate covered graham cracker cookies!
No more alarm snoozing!
No more laziness!
No more excuses!

Back at it. Started back with Step tonight and plan to do the Power Pump class along with it.
I have to tell you I nearly died.  Didn't take enough water and don't remember 45 minutes being that long.  Getting old I guess.
Come one...come all.
Maybe I will see you there. :-)

Little Miss Independent

What happens when Little Miss wants to do it herself.
Clothes come off for every meal & snack for this little one.
(These chocolate pudding pics are very similar to the "Got Poop" pics that I took but will not post.  I'll spare you all from the nastiness.)

How can you beat...

  • An afternoon game with the biggest "little" BYU fan there is.

  • Weekend trip to P-Town.  Four-wheeling fun with the cousins.

  • Grandpa's singing and guitar playing each night.

  • Visit with an old friend & holding her newborn...satisfying any baby hunger.

  • Acrobat flipping courtesy of Grandpa Scott.

Any suggestions?

Since my "Got Poop" post, we have had the same thing happen 4 times.  Seems to be getting worse with each incident.

Not sure what to do about the poop smear(er).  Is 16 months too young to potty-train? :-)
Seriously at my wits end.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

On our way.

Last night was the first night of tournament play and lo & behold...

Team Wellness Complete won both games, which gives us another couple of games next week. Sa-weet!

Sneak Peek

Click here to take a looksy at a few of the shots from the kid's photo shoot last week.

Can't wait to see the rest.  Thanks again Amanda...you do great work!

Glad he's back!

Well...for a day anyway.  (Got home late Friday & had to be back to work Sunday morn.)
Shane returned from his 5 day long backpacking trip to the Wind River Mtns. with his dad, the Hankster & Elton.  5 days without cell service...made me crazy.
Guess it is my turn for a week long vacation without the kiddos.
Better book my get-a-way soon!

9/11

Doesn't seem like 7 years ago.
We were living in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the time.
This was the view from our apartment balcony.
Shane was flying around the Caribbean for American Eagle.
Life was good.  So we thought.

Such a young looking fella.
*another picture that he will be thrilled I posted*

Things changed fast with his job after 9/11.  Furloughed  & back to Utah we came.
Scary time for everyone.  Never thought I would be able to live with Shane choosing the career he did. (luckily I got over the anxiety)  Still can't believe 9/11 happened.  Something I will never forget.
I am sure we all remember exactly where we were at when it took place.
Please share...

(Oh & Happy Birthday dad...I am sure I'll never forget your birthday either) :-)

9.10.2008

There is a story that my mom loves to re-tell.  It involves me
as a baby in the crib.  They thought I was sleeping.  Not the case.
I was busy taking off my diaper and smearing poop all over the wall.
Sick.  I know.

Well, this morning as I opened Kendal's door to get her up, the smell hit me.  Then as I looked closer, she had poop all over her hands. WHAT!  She didn't smear it on the wall...just down the front of her PJs and all over the bed.  Trying not to heave, I put her in the tub.
Scrub brush and all to get everything from out of her fingernails.
How can such a cute little thing be capable of such a horrendous act?  I am crushed. :-)

What goes around comes around.
I am in BIG trouble!

Island Park...finally.

Not sure why it has taken me two weeks to get our Island Park trip posted...but here it is.
Contain your excitement please.

Kendal was done after the 5 hr car ride to Island Park. (hence the ripped out hair)
Thank goodness for the Mamma Mia soundtrack that helped to keep her mind off of being strapped in her seat.  Shane was also great with his version of Take A Chance on Me.  Kept us entertained.

We headed to West Yellowstone for the day.  Made the loop of the park.
Old Faithful stop was a must.

It was a bit of a rough day when it came to shoes.  Kendal pitched a fit at the hot pots.
Shane was holding her & in the process of her melt-down, her croc fell into the hot pots.  Andy tried to retrieve, and nearly caused a passer-by to have a heart attack.
Within an hour of that happening, Kade's trusty Lightning McQueen flip flops broke.
Both went shoeless the rest of the day.

Kade is sporting the "Chandler Bing" smile.
Waiting for Old Faithful to spurt her stuff.
We saw lots of puff-a-low.  Lots of elk too but I didn't have my camera out.
(Counting on Rani to post those)  :-)  We were on a mission to find a bear.
That was Kade's only request.  Guess we will have to go back someday.

Back at the cabin, the boys were not hesitant to get in the water.
Notice the attire...not water-skiing weather to me.  I like it hot if I am getting in that water.
Shane got in all 3 days.  Brrrrr!
Kade was really worried when we would lose Shane in the water.
Both kids loved riding in the boat!

Shane will love that I posted these...
*guess that is what you get when you leave your wife for a week long backpacking trip. :-)

Warming up.
To the left.
To the right.

Thanks again to Rani & Andy for a nice get-a-way.
Great food, beautiful surroundings & great company.
Good times.

I like her.

After listening to her speak at the Republican National Convention, I am impressed.
I especially love the footage of little Piper taming baby brother's wispy hair.
She did not hold back. So cute.
Funny that the first thing that came to my mind when Sarah Palin was made the VP candidate was, "I can totally see Tina Fey playing her on Saturday Night Live."
Do you see the resemblance?

Fall means one thing...Pumpkin Mini Muffins

Ask Shane and it is all about football & bird hunting.  To me it has to do with food of course!
This is a recipe that is made several times around here once Fall hits.
Bite-sized, so you can eat a dozen & not feel too guilty.  Great for parties.
So easy & truly yummy.

Lowfat Pumpkin Mini Muffins

1 box spice cake mix
1  15 oz can of pumpkin
1/2 bag mini chocolate chips

Combine dry cake mix with pumpkin until combined.  Stir in chocolate chips.
I use a little ice cream scooper to scoop batter into mini muffin cups.
Got my mini muffin tin from Pampered Chef.
Also found some cute "fallish" muffin liners @ Smiths.
Bake @ 400 for 9-12 minutes.
Enjoy.

Does it get easier than that?
