smoothies
Blender has been running overtime lately. We love a good smoothie here at the Edwards.
A couple of our favorites...
Banana Breakfast Smoothie
1 cup skim or 1% milk
1/2 cup chopped ice
1 ripe banana
1 scoop Muscle Milk Vanilla Shake Protein Powder (26 g)
(I get mine @ Costco)
Blend together in blender & enjoy! I usually have a hard time with protein shakes, but this one is tasty, not gritty at all. All I need now is a Magic Bullet so I am not washing the blender twice a day.
...now for the not so healthy recipe:
Mock Orange Julius Smoothie
6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate
1. Combine all ingredients except ice cubes in blender.
*Using the powdered sugar gives it the creamy sweet taste just like the Orange Julius you buy at the mall. The kids love this.
*Would love to hear any smoothie variations you may have.*

2 telling it like it is:
yuuuuummmm... My mouth is watering, I love a good smoothie! My fav is 1 pack carnation instant breakfast, frozen berries, frozen banana, milk and ice. My kids Love koolaid slushies But I think I'm a bad mom if I pass on that unhealthy recipe ;)
Too bad my fridege doesn't make ice cubes. I think it's a hassle to have bagged ice in the freezer so we rarley do. Maybe this summer I get crazy and buy ice so we can try this.
