A Beloved Prophet

So sad to hear of his passing tonight. One of my favorite memories of President Hinckley was the silence that would run through the Conference Center as he would enter and the cute way he would wave his cane. He had such energy and did so much for the growth of the church. He will be missed!

Got snow?
We had a fun week enjoying the snow. Peyton spent the day with us on Monday while she was out of school for the MLK holiday and Kade was thrilled to have a buddy to play with in the snow. She was such a big help and fun to have around. (She even changed one of Kendal's mucky diapers) How about that? Thanks for coming!
Kendal stayed warm inside and was totally entertained watching them out the window.
Tuesday afternoon I went snowshoeing with Patty (my very "firstest" Payson friend) and her friend Holly. Camp Maple Dell was the spot and we had a great time getting outside and enjoying some fresh air.

Ist solid food for little missy

She did it! Kendal had her first solid food this morning other than baby food...a nice handful of Boo's dog food.
Won't be the last time I am sure!

Parmesan anyone?

Ok, I found a nifty little gadget. It is called a Ped Egg and my dry cracked heels have never felt better! The infomercial is a little gross, showing them empty out the shaved off skin (which by the way resembles shredded parmesan)...but my feet feel better after using the Ped Egg than after a professional pedicure. (Might be awhile until I can eat parmesan cheese again) If you have yucky, dry heels...you need this! Picked mine up at Bed Bath & Beyond for $10.

31 hour layover
UPDATE: Shane is mad that I put the picture of him winking...I thought it was funny. Also, notice the sore on Scott's forehead...a pressure sore from his headlamp from a long surgery. I just thought he had a serious zit going on.

Shane was fortunate enough to have a 31 hr layover in Cincinnati, OH this weekend.
Usually, that is not a good thing but Chuck & Carole are serving a mission in Louisville, KY and they picked Shane up this morning & they made the 2 hr drive to Scott & Keri's place in Indiana. (Scott is there doing his Oral Surgery residency)
They blessed baby Ella this afternoon at their home. Shane was excited that he could be there for the occasion. I see that Spider-Man made his appearance...that made for some great photo opps! Wish we could have been there. Ella is a doll!

Be prepared...picture overload.
Glad that someone is enjoying the frigid temps! (Good thing he has the reflective gloves so we don't lose him wondering in the backyard)
Yes...I have learned to pull myself up. Turned 8 months on the 16th of January. Mom says I am growing too fast.
Many faces of Ms. Kendal (Notice her discolored nose, too many orange colored veggies)

Need some motivation.

I have been having a hard time doing better with cutting out sweets, treats etc. I decided I have had enough and thought what is it going to take to get me motivated? So...I tried on my swimming suit last night. Yes, it was scary (totally gothic white winter skin) but it was exactly what I needed to get me to try to do better with my treat snatching. Still have a few more months until the warmer weather is upon us...better get serious with spinning and such!

Why I love this boy...
A few things from the last couple of weeks that have cracked me up:
-While loading his Little People airplane, "Get in we're going on a mission." (including Farmer Jed & the dog)
-Overheard him playing with his "CARS" cars, "Come on Mater, let's go get a Coke."
-His reply to many things (out of context usually) "Because I said!"
-Very concerned he says, "Are you kidding me Kendal Lou?"
-Has acquired a deep love for his "blankey." Will stand at the dryer after it has been washed waiting with a nervous laugh. Shane especially loves that he is attached to his blanket.
-Has a recent fascination with "bellies." Likes to look at his own and pat mine and giggle at the splattering sound it makes. (He caught a glimpse of Grandpa Munson's belly when they were wrestling & has been obsessed since) Don't be surprised when he asks you if you have a belly and wants to see it.

Go Mitt Go!
Was glad to read this article in the Deseret News this morning. Exactly how I feel about all the political incorrect garbage going on with the candidates.

Fellow Bloggers
Thought I would share with you this great website that allows you to print your blog.
Why? You may ask. (I know my blog is sooo interesting) Ha ha! Well, my main purpose of my blog is to help me journal things that are going on (I am an anti-scrapbooker & not the best journal writer and find this a great alternative).
I downloaded this FREE software and have started getting my book organized to send it off to print. It transfers all blog entries and pictures from Blogger. You can pick and choose what you would like in your book. The cost is about $20. I plan to do this at the end of each year. Let me know if you look at the site and what you think.

Happy New Year!
Shane & I had a hot date for New Year's Eve...we rarely go out, especially without any kids (thanks mom & dad)!
Shane got in Monday afternoon and we all headed south to Parowan and dropped the kids off with my parents and then met Steph & Booie for dinner at Rusty's in Cedar City. Steph has been a good friend since I worked with her over 7 years ago at WECCO. (Has it been that long?) We had fun reminiscing and laughing over old times. Many memories of Van Halen and putting puzzles together until the wee hours of the morning...good times! "Coach, when we gonna get to Delta...I puked!"
After dinner we went back to their place and had a fun time with Guitar Hero and played Curses. (No...we will not be purchasing Guitar Hero. I could easily become obsessed!) Shane was cursed with 2 inch arms and the highlight was Shane trying to bully Booie into giving him his lunch money with his stubby arms. Booie's final curse was super-glued hands to his head. Sure is hard to do sign language and talk like Scooby Doo when you can't move your hands. If you haven't played Curses...highly recommended game. Lots of laughs and a fun way to ring in the New Year!
Looking forward to 2008!
