I don't know what it is about this time of year but I love it! Well, I take that back...I know exactly what it is that I love:
Warm afternoons and crisp evenings, leaves changing, pumpkin pie Blizzards @ DQ (anything made with pumpkin for that matter), the hankering to be back in college starting a new school year and football.
Last Friday we took a drive up Payson Canyon for a picnic and to see the leaves. It was a fun day out for the family. Kade loved running wild. Did I mention that I love this time of year?

Whirlwind of a trip...
Last Sunday we flew out to see Chuck and Carole while they are out on their mission in Louisville, KY.
Flying stand-by isn't always the easiest, non-stressful way to go...after missing getting on the first flight on Sunday we waited around another couple of hours to get on the next flight. It is always stressful to walk onto the airplane and have everyone look at you with a baby in arms and sense their reaction of "Please don't sit next to me!" The kids did really good on the flight and we got to Cincinatti late that night and then rented a car and had another 1 1/2 hr drive to KY.
It was fun to see Chuck and Carole and it was fun for the kids to see them. Kendal has changed so much in the past couple of months. Monday we all loaded back into the cars and headed to Avon, IN to see Scott and Keri and their family. It was a quick trip but nice to see where they are living and spend an evening with them. Kade and "Teetee" or Mikey had a fun time playing and 2-year-old bickering. :-) It was fun to get them together. We felt bad barging in on Keri last minute, but she was a great host and even gave up their bed to Shane and I to sleep in. Thanks!
We decided that we needed to fly home on Wednesday since Shane had training in Seattle on Friday and we needed to be sure to get home with time to spare. Wednesday morning we went to the Louisville Slugger Bat Museum in downtown Louisville. It was fun to see where they make the bats and take a tour. We had a good time. We got into SLC about 10:30 pm and Shane headed to get the truck and left Kendal, the luggage and myself on the curb. Well, after waiting and waiting I called Shane and one of the tires was flat on the truck. He and Kade were trying to change the tire in the parking lot. Just what we wanted to come home to. Anyway finally at nearly midnight, we were on our way to Farmington to pick up Boo and Hank and then rolled into Payson at about 2:30 am. It made for a long day. I was needing a vacation to recover from our vacation!

Star Valley
A little late, but I guess better late than never huh? We spent 5 days in Star Valley at the cabin and it was a much needed get-a-way. It worked out with Shane's schedule that we could spend the week away. We had a great time just hanging out and getting away from our everyday worries. I got to relax and read "Twilight."
Shane convinced me that I didn't need to borrow another port-a-crib for Kendal, so I only packed one. Well, we got to the cabin and there were dead flies and moths everywhere...I was not about to make her a bed on the floor. So poor little Kendal slept in the Rubbermaid bin that I had packed all of our clothes in. Shane was mortified that I put our baby in "tupperware" as he put it. It was pretty funny.
While we were there we celebrated the Kademan's 2nd birthday. Can't believe how fast he is growing. We spent the day driving to Jackson Hole and walked around the shops and then we went out for pizza and then went back to the cabin for cupcakes and presents. My mom has been collecting the cars from the movie "CARS" and boy was that a hit. We have cars everywhere in the house. Grandma Carole got him a baseball back-pack that he loads with cars and packs around.
After a few days at the cabin as a family, Dave and Rebecca and Brad and Natalee came up Friday night for the weekend. The guys went golfing early Saturday morning and then we just hung out at the cabin and made a big dinner that night.
We had a good time. Shane and I had some pretty intense games of ping-pong...such a bummer that we are both so competitive.
We got home late Sunday night and I laid Kendal on the living room floor while I helped unload the truck and when I came back in she had rolled. I am sad...she is growing way too fast. She will be 4 months this next week. Time flies.
